The president emphasized the importance of relations with Egypt for Armenia

The President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan, received the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Baha el-Dessouki, in Armenia on the occasion of completing the diplomatic mission.

The President thanked the Ambassador for his efforts in developing and strengthening Armenian-Egyptian relations during his four years of office and wished him success in his future activities.

President Vahagn Khachaturyan emphasized the importance of relations with Egypt for Armenia, conditioned by historical and cultural ties, mutual economic interests, and common approaches to several regional problems.

The President of Armenia and the Ambassador of Egypt both emphasized and valued the cooperation between Armenia and Egypt, which is continuously deepening and includes various fields within the framework of the rich plan while stressing the need for frequent high-level mutual visits and periodic consultations. The parties also referred to the 27th Conference of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27) to be held in Egypt this year.

Ambassador Baha el-Desouki thanked him for his support and willingness to cooperate in Armenia throughout the diplomatic mission, stressing that wherever he will continue his diplomatic work in the future, he will be as helpful as possible to friendly Armenia and the Armenian people, towards whom he has a unique warm attitude.
