In the summer, MP of the National Assembly "Hayastan" faction Ishkhan Saghatelyan announced that from September, "they will enter the struggle with a wider scope and new breath." For a long time, however, the opposition does not take any steps, and the promised struggle is not mentioned.
Agnesa Khamoyan, a member of the National Assembly "Hayastan" faction, said in a conversation with Radar Armenia that she disagrees with assessing the opposition's passivity. According to her, the opposition is in its place, working on a specific plan. "After the most active stage of the resistance movement and daily rallies, when a more passive part was recorded, citizens also asked why the opposition does not continue its struggle with the same activity. Also, considering the border tension, there were some pauses. Still, the opposition has repeatedly stated that it has not gone anywhere, has not retreated from the struggle, and is now working on starting the struggle with new momentum," Khamoyan explained.
To the question: how is it that the parliamentary opposition boycotts the NA sessions and does not go to the parliament, but some opposition members participate in foreign operations with government representatives, Khamoyan responded that these visits are only "for the sake of Artsakh" and "records of the fragile security environment of Armenia" to present on international platforms."
"At the beginning, due to the illegal arrests of our friends, we issued a statement and boycotted the work on international platforms, but then it was followed by the release of our colleagues from detention, and we noted that, despite the incompatibility of working with the ruling faction, we value our participation on international platforms. And making Armenia's voice more audible," Khamoyan noted that not all visits are attended by their deputies. "They participate only when there is a reason and opportunity to talk about Azerbaijan's illegal invasion of Artsakh and the territory of Armenia."
