The President and the representatives of the Armenian Congress of America exchanged ideas on the general atmosphere prevailing in the country.

The President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan, received the Co-Chairmen of the Board of Trustees of the Armenian Assembly of America, Van Grigoryan, and Anthony Barsamian, the Executive Director of the Assembly, Brian Arduini.

Vahagn Khachaturyan highly appreciated the moral position of the Armenian Congress of America to always stand by the state and the many programs implemented since the 1990s.

"You have always been on the side of the state, no matter what the government was. This is the most important thing because you have always selflessly supported statehood and helped the citizens of Armenia. I value it very highly because political and ideological differences often hinder unity," President Khachaturyan said.

Co-Chairman of the Council of Trustees of the Assembly, Van Grigoryan, expressing his gratitude for the reception, emphasized that one of the primary principles of the activity of the Armenian Assembly both within the Diaspora and in Armenia-Diaspora relations is unity and support for Armenian statehood.

During the meeting, President Khachaturyan presented the guests with details about the military aggression unleashed by the Azerbaijani side on September 13. The President referred to the current security challenges of Armenia, the general situation, and expectations in the Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiation process. The President stressed that Armenia is open in its relations with all partners, including the USA and European Union countries, and has a clear position to establish stable and lasting peace in the region.

During the conversation, ideas were exchanged about Armenia-Diaspora relations and the general atmosphere prevailing in the country. The President of the Republic noted that Armenia also needs the support of Diaspora organizations to implement reforms. Still, the content of this aid needs to be reformulated and guided by the principles of development and implementation of programs and not direct and one-time charitable assistance.
