The Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan published the verdict in the case of the Nork armed group revealed in 2015.

According to the indictment, the 20-member armed group planned to seize the government by force, in particular, to shoot down the president's plane during the flight and to attack the RA president's residence, the National Assembly, the Government, and other state institutions.
The court found the leader of the armed group Artur Vardanyan guilty of the charges and sentenced him to 13 years in prison.
The former RA Deputy Defense Minister Vahan Shirkhanyan was acquitted of participating in the criminal cooperation created by Artur Vardanyan and illegally acquiring and carrying weapons and ammunition based on a lack of criminal record. However, Shirkhanyan was found guilty of aiding in the preparations for the usurpation of power. He was sentenced to 6 years in prison. At the same time, Shirkhanyan was released from the punishment imposed by amnesty.
Gyumri Catholic Church priest Anton Dikran Totonjian was sentenced to 9 years in prison. At the same time, however, the court decided not to impose a conditional sentence on him, setting a probation period of 5 years.
