The presence of Russian peacekeepers prevents escalation. Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Armenia
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Russia to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin stated that the presence of Russian peacekeepers in the problematic parts of the border prevents escalation. He says, "Our peacekeepers, our border guards are in contact with both sides. This prevents escalation."
In a briefing with journalists, Kopirkin assured us that they are working, which is also essential in maintaining stability and preventing further escalation of the situation.
According to the ambassador, the political dialogue is constantly ongoing in both bilateral and trilateral formats. "There is close contact at the highest level. Most of what was done are known. The well-known mechanisms based on tripartite agreements, which were reached in 2020-2021, are in place. We value these formats and attach great importance to them, despite the problems and challenges.”
According to the ambassador, this is a whole series of steps and measures aimed at reaching the necessary agreements.
