In a conversation with journalists, Diana Karazyan, deputy of the principal office of the RA Prime Minister's official representative for international legal affairs, informed that Azerbaijan has confirmed that it captured 17 Armenian service members due to the September 13 military aggression but does not provide details to the ECHR.
She states, "As of now, the office has focused its work on applying an urgent measure related to prisoners of war. However, Azerbaijan does not always provide the information requested by the ECHR. "Azerbaijan has confirmed that it has 17 prisoners of war, about which it has provided very general information."
Karazyan noted that the ECHR demanded Baku provide detailed information about the prisoners, medical examination evidence, and other data, but the Azerbaijani side provided vague general information.
According to Karazyan, such behavior in Azerbaijan is not new. He added that, due to the 44-day war, around 30 prisoners, including civilians, are being held in Azerbaijan.
