Statement of the RA MFA regarding the war crimes committed by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.
Several videos continuously shared by Azerbaijani users on social networks document the war crimes committed by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces: extrajudicial killings of Armenian prisoners of war, torture of Armenian service members, including women, and desecration of corpses.
The Republic of Armenia demands a clear assessment of the flagrant war crimes committed by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in this and previous periods. We will pursue the raising of the problem on relevant international platforms and instances and bring the perpetrators and organizers of the crimes mentioned above to justice, including by applying international sanctions. In this context, a proper international investigation is imperative.
At the same time, the international community is obliged to increase the pressure on Azerbaijan for the immediate repatriation of all Armenian prisoners of war and civilians illegally held in Azerbaijan, forced disappearances, and disclosure of the fate of the missing.
