The troops must return to their original positions. The UK Embassy on Azerbaijani aggression
In response to the "News" inquiry regarding Azerbaijan's latest aggression, the Embassy of the United Kingdom in Armenia reported: "The UK government had made it clear, including during our mediation at the OSCE in Vienna, that the armed forces must be withdrawn to the positions they were in before hostilities began. The only way to resolve the conflict is diplomacy.
We have consistently condemned the targeting of civilian areas in all conflicts. Our thoughts are with the families of those killed or injured in the recent violence.
The British government welcomes the return of prisoners of war and the remains of the dead. We call on the parties to discuss the issue of the return of all remaining prisoners of war and the remains of the deceased. Reports of torture are incredibly worrying and require a thorough investigation by the relevant authorities."
