Ararat Mirzoyan and Samantha Power emphasized the expansion of cooperation

On September 21, within the framework of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with USAID Manager Samantha Power.

The interlocutors noted with satisfaction that Armenian-American relations based on shared democratic values ​​are continuously developing, enriching the bilateral agenda with new content. Minister Mirzoyan reaffirmed the Armenian government's commitment to democracy and the protection of human rights and its readiness to continue the reform agenda.

Minister Mirzoyan and Samantha Power referred to the programs implemented by USAID in Armenia and exchanged thoughts on the prospects of implementing new joint programs. The collective work carried out in the direction of the reform agenda of the Armenian government, the development of institutional capacities in Armenia, and the further expansion and development of cooperation in these directions were highlighted.

During the meeting, the Foreign Minister presented the latest aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia and the resulting situation.

In the context of countering Azerbaijan's dynamic and aggressive behavior, the role of direct condemnation of Azerbaijani aggression by the international community and the importance of taking practical steps to prevent potential aggressions in the future were emphasized. Ararat Mirzoyan also noted that the Republic of Armenia would protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
