National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan congratulated on Independence Day.
"In 1991, September 21 was the day of fulfillment of the shared dream of independence of the Republic of Armenia.
Those who fought for independence, their descendants, and those born in independent Armenia have endured many trials.
We send words of gratitude to our brothers and sisters consistently loyal to the idea of independence and who have suffered many hardships and challenges. Respect and bow to the brave men who did not spare their lives for the homeland, independence, and sovereignty for 31 years.
For our homeland, these days when we have suffered heavy losses, it is essential to find the strength to repel despair, act, and create independence for the future.
I congratulate you on the occasion of the independence of the Republic of Armenia, the day of our regained statehood."
