Ararat Mirzoyan and the Belgian Foreign Minister stressed the importance of maintaining the ceasefire regime
On September 19, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, who was in New York on a working visit, met with Belgian Foreign Minister Haja Lahbib.
Ararat Mirzoyan presented to Haja Lahbib the consequences of the large-scale aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan on the sovereign territory of Armenia on September 13, condemning the violations of international and humanitarian law by the Azerbaijani military and the cases of inhumane treatment of Armenian service members and prisoners of war.
Both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining the ceasefire regime and settling problems through peaceful negotiations.
The head of the RA foreign political department particularly emphasized that the international community's unaddressed appeals contribute to the aggressive and overzealous behavior of the Azerbaijani side, as a result of which the efforts of the Armenian side to establish stability and peace in the region are undermined.
The ministers also discussed issues related to the deepening of the Armenian-Belgian political dialogue, cooperation on multilateral platforms, trade development, and economic and educational-cultural ties.
