"That hope no longer exists." Armen Grigoryan on launching CSTO mechanisms

Yerevan's demand from the CSTO was to provide military and military-political assistance to Armenia, but until now, it has not been fulfilled. Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of the RA Security Council, stated this in a conversation with the "Azatutyun" radio station.

"Naturally, we cannot be satisfied with this part. The fact that the CSTO has not yet reacted appropriately so that the Azerbaijani troops completely withdraw from the sovereign territory of Armenia means that our expectations have not been met, and our expectations will only be met in that case.

What was our expectation, and what was our question formulated when applying to the CSTO, that is, to provide military and military-political assistance to Armenia so that the sovereignty of Armenia is protected. Do the Azerbaijani troops withdraw from the sovereign territory of Armenia? This was our demand from CSTO, but it has not been fulfilled until now. It cannot satisfy us in this regard," said Grigoryan.

He stressed that Azerbaijan does not refuse to have ambitions toward the sovereign territories of Armenia and is trying to exert pressure on Armenia through aggression.

"Armenia's demand remains that the Azerbaijani troops should withdraw from the sovereign territory of Armenia. When we say that they should leave, we mean that the occupation of the sovereign territory of Armenia with the invasion that started on May 12 last year should be eliminated," said the Secretary of the Council of Ministers.
