EBRD is ready to expand bilateral cooperation

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Odile Renaud-Basso.

The Prime Minister emphasized the close and practical cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the EBRD, as a result of which many programs are being implemented in different fields in our country. Nikol Pashinyan noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of bilateral cooperation, and the collaboration of these three decades has been further developed and strengthened. According to the Prime Minister, this cooperation also contributed to the stability of the RA economy, including during the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the head of the executive, the democratic reforms carried out in our country and the economy field are successfully implemented. As a result, RA has risen to the 11th position in the world index of economic freedom. The Prime Minister expressed his belief that all this will contribute to further economic activity and development in our country.

The EBRD President also expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation with the RA government and added that the joint programs are continuously expanding. Mrs. Basso emphasized the implementation of projects in infrastructure development, road construction, private sector, and other directions and noted that EBRD is ready to expand bilateral cooperation.

At the meeting, the interlocutors discussed various issues related to further cooperation.
