In the commentary given to "News,"  the Iranian Embassy in Armenia stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran has clearly and at different levels expressed its position regarding the developments in the Caucasus region and its relations with the two neighboring countries, the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. 

"As we witnessed in the news covering the meetings held between the supreme leader of the revolution and the presidents of Russia and Turkey, Iran is against the violation of the territorial integrity and borders of neighboring countries and will show superior resistance to any scenario that would damage the Iran-Armenia border, which is a historical route connecting the two neighboring nations.

This principled position of ours was repeated during the telephone conversation between the President of the Republic of Iran and the Honorable Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

 The embassy's commentary said that During the telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Bayramov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iran, Amir Abdollahian, expressed his concern regarding the new stage of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan and expressed his readiness to support the peaceful settlement of the problems, and clearly emphasized that it is essential for Iran to have two neighbors. He was preserving the territorial integrity of the countries and the fact that the Iran-Armenia border is a historical communication route and should remain unchanged,".
