The UN Security Council called on Baku and Yerevan to stop the fire as soon as possible

Vasiliy Nebenzya, the Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations, told reporters that the UN Security Council called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to stop the fire and settle the situation by political and diplomatic means.

"Everyone has unanimously expressed their support for an early ceasefire and the settlement of the situation through political-diplomatic means. Now the "elements for the press" are being discussed; experts are working on it, he said.

He added that Moscow insists that the statement for the press should include a reference to the three tripartite views of the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, which are the basis for the settlement of relations between the two countries.

He also added that at the closed session of the UN Security Council, Russia informed about the work being done within the framework of the CSTO to stop the conflict.
