The OSCE called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to immediately stop the fire

The escalation of hostilities on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan must be stopped immediately. Acting Chairman of the OSCE, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Zbigniew Rau, stated this.

"The progress achieved so far through diplomacy should not be wasted. Progress has been made over the past 18 months, including an agreement to continue work on a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Those clashes endanger progress and endanger countless lives," he said.

OSCE Secretary General Helga Maria Schmid, in turn, urged to stop the fire to avoid casualties. "Based on years of experience and expert knowledge, the OSCE is ready to help. We all share the common goal of achieving lasting peace and prosperity in the region," he said.
