Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the newly appointed US co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, Philip Ricker, senior adviser on Caucasian negotiations.
The Prime Minister congratulated Mr. Ricker on his appointment to the responsible position and welcomed his visit to the region. The head of the government emphasized the critical role of the US as a co-chairing state of the OSCE Minsk Group in the process of settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Nikol Pashinyan insisted on the restoration of the negotiation process within the co-chairmanship of the Central Committee and the use of the latter's experience in the context of the comprehensive settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem.
The interlocutors discussed several issues related to the Nagorno-Karabakh problem.
Reference was made to the humanitarian problems caused by the 44-day war. The need for the immediate repatriation of Armenian prisoners of war and other detained persons and the preservation of Armenian cultural and religious heritage in the territories passed under Azerbaijani control was emphasized.
Thoughts were also exchanged on the regulation of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, regional stability, and other topics related to security.
