The General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia informs that the General Jurisdiction Court of the first instance of Yerevan has accepted another lawsuit filed on July 27, 2022 by the Department of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia regarding the confiscation of property of illegal origin.
With that, a demand was presented to the court to confiscate in favor of the Republic of Armenia from Surik Khachatryan, the former governor of Syunik, RA, and five persons related to him, in particular:
Five immovable properties: a private house in the city of Yerevan (with two addresses), an apartment, an object of public importance, a building in the town of Goris, three vehicles, and in case of impossibility, their average market values, which total more than AMD 1,530,135,900,participations in 3 legal entities,614.544.139 AMD as the balance of illegal funds,AMD 2,410,463,523, which is not substantiated by a person's legal income, has an illegal origin and cannot be confiscated based on Part 4 of Article 20 of the Law on Confiscation of Illegally Originated Property,
The right to demand loans and other receivables for a total of AMD 4,450,350,364 granted to individuals and legal entities, the investment amount of AMD 10,098,300,000 was transferred to the offshore organization.
The General Prosecutor's Office continues the process of filing lawsuits for the confiscation of illegal property in the cases in which the means of preliminary securing of the claim have already been applied.
The above is the thirteenth such claim to be heard by the court.
