The Chinese ambassador left for Syunik

China's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Fan Yong, left for Syunik Region on a working visit.

He was received by the deputy governor of Syunik, Hayk Harutyunyan, and the management staff of the regional governor's office.

According to the governor's office, the ambassador is in Syunik for the first time. He noted that the purpose of the visit is to discuss how to find edges of cooperation between China and the Syunik region.

"Syunik is a region of great importance for the Republic of Armenia. In recent years, mining products have the highest percentage in the trade turnover between our two countries, and it is mainly exported from Syunik," Fan Yong said, adding that this is not the only area where it is possible to cooperate, and we need to find new places. In this regard, the embassy is also ready to direct the investors of their country to Syunik.

Hayk Harutyunyan, welcoming the ambassador, noted that his visit to Syunik is becoming more critical in this challenging period, and the basis of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of China, which expires this year, is the historical friendship of millennia.

The regional authorities presented to the high-ranking diplomat the main directions in which Syunik can cooperate with the Chinese side, which may interest investors or benefit the region in terms of experience exchange.

During the meeting, considering the development possibilities of Syunik in the context of Armenian-Chinese relations, several areas and issues were discussed, which were mainly related to education, tourism, road construction, launching of other infrastructures, sister cities institute, local self-government, export of Syunik local products, etc.

In the future, the parties with narrower professional groups will take practical steps to deepen them.
