By the decision of the RA Government, the rights certified by the 6.875% shares of Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine, a closed joint-stock company owned by the Republic of Armenia, were handed over to the trust management of the "State Interests Fund of Armenia" closed joint-stock company.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that in 2021 on September 30, the Government received 15 percent of the shares of the Zangezur copper-molybdenum combine as a donation. "At that time, we handed over the management to ANIF or the Armenian State Interests Fund. On March 24, 2022, we received another 6.8 percent as a donation." According to him, at that time, the donation was decided secretly because the donor had the problem of keeping business confidentiality. "When the need for that secrecy has disappeared from their side, and we hand over that share to the State Interests Fund of Armenia for management," announced Nikol Pashinyan.
According to Pashinyan, this is an important event. "I made such a pre-election promise, and I am happy to record that this one pre-election promise has also been fulfilled. I hope this decision will contribute to the sector's transparency, the generation of state revenues, and the development of our country in general."
