It is my subjective opinion that this explosion has nothing to do with any terrorist act. Tigran Avinyan, the member of the board of the "Civil Contract" party, and candidate for mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, said this in a briefing with journalists today, noting that a criminal case has been initiated.
"I think the criminal case will reveal what happened, but keeping approximately 4 tons of fireworks and a tiny spark can have similar consequences," said Tigran Avinyan.
When asked why the 2021 law did not regulate the project approved by the Government on the storage of explosive materials, Tigran Avinyan said: "The issue was discussed in the National Assembly, but it should be understood that there is a significant business sector here, which is related to this type of work and should also be listening to them.
Tigran Avinyan informed that they spoke with MP Sisak Garbrielyan, also the project's co-author, to tighten the order of organizing fireworks, noting that this issue will be discussed in an extraordinary session at the first session of the National Assembly to be convened in September.
