The Republic of Artsakh's Ministry of Foreign Affairs categorically denies and strongly condemns the false news spread by Azerbaijani media that the Armed Forces of Artsakh are moving and concentrating various military equipment in various directions along the contact line.
By filling the information field with such fake news, as we have already had many occasions to make sure, Azerbaijan is preparing the ground for further provocations.
We draw the attention of international actors, and especially the UN Security Council, to the fact that Azerbaijan is intensifying the situation just two days after the request of the Republic of Armenia to convene an emergency session of the UN Security Council regarding the deterioration of the humanitarian crisis due to the complete blockade imposed on the civilian population of Artsakh. This is an attempt to divert the attention of international structures from the humanitarian disaster caused by Azerbaijan's illegal blocking of the Lachin Corridor in the Republic of Artsakh.
We note again that in 2022 Since December 12, the Republic of Artsakh has been under a complete blockade as a result of the illegal actions of Azerbaijan. Moreover, in 2023 since June 15, the people of Artsakh have been deprived of the opportunity to import even the smallest amount of food, medicine, and all other vital goods through the Lachin Corridor through the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Russian peacekeeping troops.
Thus, in the absence of practical steps by the international community, Azerbaijan continues to violate the provisions of the Tripartite Declaration of November 9, 2020, universal international legal norms, as well as specific international legal acts adopted regarding the Lachin Corridor, including the UN International Court of Justice and Human Rights the legally binding decisions of the European Court regarding the unblocking of the Lachine Corridor.
We demand that all international actors, particularly the Russian peacekeeping forces, immediately take appropriate steps to curb the possible provocative actions of Azerbaijan.
In the current situation, it is imperative to convene an emergency session of the UN Security Council as soon as possible to decide on implementing the necessary and effective measures aimed at the complete and unconditional unblocking of the Lachin Corridor.
