We call on the UN Security Council to properly respond to the situation. Artsakh MFA

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh issued a message saying:

We welcome the decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia to appeal to the UN Security Council with a request to discuss the challenging humanitarian situation created as a result of the illegal blockade of the Lachine Corridor for more than eight months and the inhumane siege of Artsakh.

In this regard, we consider it essential to emphasize that on August 8, the President of the Republic of Artsakh appealed to the Government of the Republic of Armenia, calling to immediately present to the UN Security Council for consideration the humanitarian disaster caused by Azerbaijan's blocking of the Lachine Corridor in Artsakh.

We consider the direct involvement of the UN Security Council and the adoption of relevant, urgent decisions to be the most critical factor that can put an end to the gross violations of human rights by Azerbaijan in Artsakh and stop the apparent genocidal policy consistently and systematically implemented by Azerbaijan against the people of Artsakh.

We call on the UN Security Council, which bears the primary responsibility for maintaining international peace and security, preventing genocides and other mass crimes, as well as ensuring the implementation of the decisions of the UN International Court of Justice, to respond appropriately to the situation and decide on the complete closure of the Lachine Corridor. , on implementing necessary, urgent, and practical measures aimed at immediate and unconditional unblocking.
