Artsakh MFA stated the complete closure of the Lachin Corridor.
"On June 15, the Azerbaijani side, deliberately resorting to provocation on the Hakari bridge, completely blocked all humanitarian passenger and cargo transportation through the Lachin corridor in both directions.
As a result of Azerbaijan's actions, the planned medical evacuation of medical patients from Artsakh to Armenia was disrupted, and the transportation of passengers due to urgent humanitarian needs along the Stepanakert-Goris-Stepanakert route was canceled with the mediation of the Russian peacekeeping corps.
The flow of the trucks of Russian peacekeepers, which had gone to Goris to deliver humanitarian goods to Artsakh, was also stopped.
Due to the illegal blockade of Artsakh that has been going on for more than six months, the complete blocking of the Lachin Corridor, which is already under a limited regime and used exclusively for humanitarian purposes, once again demonstrates in practice that Azerbaijan grossly violates its international obligations, ignores the fundamental norms of international law, including the UN legally binding decision of the international court.
The checkpoint illegally installed in the Lachin Corridor is used by Azerbaijan exclusively as a tool to continue the policy of ethnic cleansing against the people of Artsakh.
It is evident that the Azerbaijani authorities, in continuation of their policy aimed at the ethnic cleansing of Artsakh and the expulsion of its people from their native land, which is carried out by creating unbearable living conditions, including the long-term blockade of Artsakh started by the so-called eco-activists, the establishment of Azerbaijani control over the Lachin Corridor, and other illegal through actions, have decided to resort to new provocations aimed at tightening the blockade and isolating the people of Artsakh from the outside world, depriving them of even limited movement and the possibility of transporting humanitarian goods through the ICRC and Russian peacekeepers.
In the conditions of tolerance towards the policy of ethnic cleansing against the people of Artsakh and the lack of decisive measures by the international community, Azerbaijan's actions become more threatening. To avoid new atrocities and crimes against the people of Artsakh, Azerbaijan's similar illegal and aggressive steps should receive an adequate political evaluation by the international community and all parties involved in the process.
We once again emphasize that the prevention of massive human rights violations, including ethnic cleansing and genocide, is the responsibility of all members of the international community."
