The Prosecutor's Office of Artsakh issued a message informing. "From December 12 of this year, a group of citizens of Azerbaijan, posing as environmentalists, illegally occupied the road connecting Artsakh to Armenia under a false pretext, thus stopping the traffic and cutting off the only connection of Artsakh citizens with the outside world." For two days, Azerbaijan deliberately stopped the gas supply from Armenia to Artsakh.
In connection with the mentioned cases, criminal proceedings were immediately initiated by the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan, within the framework of which the factual data obtained within the framework of the investigative measures, including the operative-investigative calculations implemented by the National Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, proved that:
- The overwhelming majority of Azerbaijani citizens who organized the seizure of the Stepanakert-Goris highway are former or current employees of special services.
- the raised environmental problem is only used to justify one's actions and give them a good appearance.
- Azerbaijan pursues the goal of undermining the foundations of the Artsakh Republic's economy, depriving the population of a source of income and jobs.
- The actions carried out by the citizens of Azerbaijan contradict the 2020 provisions of the tripartite statement of November 9 to the status quo recorded thereby.
- Citizens of the Republic of Artsakh, as indigenous people and right holders of that territory, have the right to manage, possess, and use the land, surrounding natural environment, nature, and subsoil of that territory, which Azerbaijan is trying to ignore and neutralize, by force of international law.
