Since December 12, Azerbaijan has closed the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia, putting Mets Shen, Hin Shen, Yegtsahogh, and Lisagor villages of the Shushi region under a virtual blockade. The gas supply to Artsakh has been stopped since yesterday.
In a conversation with Radar Armenia, Mets Shen community head Davit Davtyan said there is no panic in the village; everything is fine. However, he also presented the difficulties caused by the created situation, "It is true, there is no gas, but there is electricity, the electricity is normal," said the head of the community. According to him, Artsakh authorities are negotiating to resolve the issue. "Let's see what the end will be. There is no possibility of going to Stepanakert; it is closed. Contact is only by phone."
The head of Mets Shen says that at night about eight cars left on the road came to the village, and they accommodated them.
We wondered what is needed in the village. The head of the community said that if this continues for a long time, a lot will be required, "At the moment, there is no shop in Mets Shen, there are no cigarettes, and people do not know where to buy cigarettes. Sick people run out of medicine; they don't know what to do again. There is no problem with food," said Davtyan.
According to the head of the community, there is no doctor in the village, "We have a nurse, but she also stayed in Yerevan. If a doctor is needed, we should bring the nurse from the neighboring village to give first aid to the people."
