"Azerbaijani military bases are a direct threat to the lives of civilians." HRD of Artsakh

Artsakh HRD Gegham Stepanyan wrote on his Facebook page:

"Today, the targeted shots fired at civilians carrying out agricultural work in the territory of Khramort village of Artsakh are another proof of the ethnic hatred and genocidal policy carried out by Azerbaijan against the people of Artsakh.

According to the information received by the human rights defender's staff, the incident was recorded on November 5, around 12:30, in a field located in the administrative area of the Khramort community of the Askerani region of the Republic of Artsakh. The "Belarus" tractor belonging to K. Martirosyan, a resident of Stepanakert, was damaged due to the firing, and no civilians were injured. As a result of the firing, agricultural work was stopped entirely.

Talking about peace and making false promises of the rights and security of the people of Artsakh, the Azerbaijani authorities and armed forces continue to conduct a criminal policy that leads to widespread violations of the most fundamental rights of the people of Artsakh and undermines physical and psychological security.

We have repeatedly emphasized that military bases in the vicinity of peaceful settlements directly threaten the lives and other fundamental rights of the civilian population, the threatening consequences of which we have witnessed many times after the ceasefire was established.

Azerbaijan's ethnic cleansing and genocidal policy has not changed and will not change. What is done under the guise of false pacifism is aimed at misleading the international community and numbing the vigilance of our society."
