President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev announced that Azerbaijan and Armenia could prepare and sign a peace treaty within a few months.
"I believe that we can sign a peace agreement within a few months," he said in an interview with the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore.
The president of Azerbaijan considers such a development of events to be accurate "if the Armenian side shows the same will."
According to Aliyev, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan accepted the 5 principles presented by Baku, which are the basis for the peace treaty. This was reaffirmed at the meeting in Brussels.
"Based on these five principles, our foreign ministers will enter into practical negotiations on the text of the agreement," the leader of Azerbaijan announced during a press conference held in the Italian city of Cernobbio.
