- Although the US and Russian presidents had agreed to meet in Hungary, it will not take place. How would you explain why it was decided this way after the agreement?
- Trump had said that if there were no tangible results, he did not want to meet with Putin. There were no prerequisites for tangible results. Ukraine is not like Gaza. There are still no edges of agreement. The failure of the meeting is compounded by sanctions imposed on Russian energy companies. The noose is tightening against Russia.
- The US has imposed a package of sanctions against Russian companies. It also seems that tension between the two countries has returned. What consequences will this have? Why did the situation suddenly change like this?
- Moscow does not want to play by the rules specified by Washington. The US is making statements to continue the dialogue with Russia, but on the other hand, it is tightening the noose. This rule of the game will continue. We will witness an invitation to dialogue again.
- The EU also initiated a new package of sanctions against Russia. What did this mean?
- This is simply about the united stance of the collective West. Even if there is a difference, it will be coordinated between the US and Europe.
- What consequences will what is happening have on the initiative to achieve a ceasefire? What will it bring on the Russian-Ukrainian front?
- A ceasefire and peace are not yet visible. One of the goals of this conflict is longevity. The primary beneficiary is the US. Both Russia and Ukraine, and Europe, suffer—the US benefits.
- How will what is happening affect our region, taking into account the interests and representation of both countries?
- The US, which is already present in our region, will become more active. Naturally, this will be at the expense of the Russian factor. One of the long-term results is the weakening of the Russian factor in our region and the activation of the US presence.
