- The most important event of the past week was the Israeli attack on the Hamas leadership in Doha. What consequences could this have, considering that the blow was inflicted on Qatar, a country that serves as a mediator?
- Indeed, a severe blow was inflicted on Qatar. The issue has become the fact that Qatar is a mediatory environment. Qatar was unofficially proclaimed "Arab Switzerland". Qatar will harden its position towards Israel, which it is already doing, and will suspend its mediation. After some time, it will restore it. This depends on the results of the military operations in Gaza.
- Benjamin Netanyahu urged Qatar and all the countries that shelter terrorists to expel them or put them on trial; otherwise, they will do it themselves. What does this mean?
- By terrorists, Israel understands Hamas representatives and calls on the parties not to negotiate with terrorists. Negotiations are opposed to Tel Aviv's decision. Israel has decided to resolve the issue by military means. This is a message not to re-enter talks.
- How will this affect US-Qatar relations, considering that, according to Trump, it was Prime Minister Netanyahu's decision, not his, and that the US tried to warn Doha about the impending strike?
- The last part of the question is exciting. It means that the US was aware of the attack plan. On the one hand, the Palestinians went to Qatar to discuss American proposals, and on the other hand, the US was informed that such an attack could be carried out. They were not involved in the decision, but they were aware of it and did not prohibit it.
- Can we say that the Israeli-Palestinian negotiations are now at a deadlock, and Qatar will stop its mediation role?
- At the moment, they are at a deadlock. However, it is not excluded that they will resume, in a different environment. Israel, however, wants to go all the way and negotiate only when it fully controls Gaza. Whether negotiations will take place before then depends on the US. The US position on the Qatar incident is ambiguous.
