-What was the central message of the press conference of the leader of the "Armenia" bloc, Robert Kocharyan?
-"I either, yes, have grown old, yes, I am guilty of many sins that I will never confess, but I either, and I, with a strictly pragmatic calculation, want to return to power or transfer the power that I once had to my son. Otherwise, my sons must answer for what I did and did not do. Besides, keeping what I have is becoming increasingly difficult; I need power to maintain it." The main message conveyed in the answers to all the questions was this: the rest was a veil. In 2025, this is a threat that will never come true.
-Kocharyan, referring to the details of the Meghri version, whether Vazgen Sargsyan was aware of it or not, noted that Talbot only said that after telling Demirel, Vazgen Sargsyan was not aware of some details, but, according to him, Sargsyan was mindful of everything. What do you say in this regard?
- In his new book that he is going to write, let Robert Kocharyan be honest and finally reveal the truth about the fact that the Meghri exchange version was a joint Russian-Turkish project, and let him answer the question: what was the connection between "October 27" and the Meghri version? And if there was no connection, why was no one found in 10 years? Why did the trial turn into a farce when Judge Samvel Uzunyan was getting sick and recovering on order, and the witnesses were not questioned... A trial that de facto did not end but was suspended. Why? Vazgen Sargsyan has gloriously responded to the Meghri exchange version, both at the Security Council session, in his famous speech about Meghri, and by becoming a victim of the October 27 terrorist attack. What is Robert Kocharyan saying? Has anyone understood... Is there any articulated explanation (strangely, no one asked these questions at the press conference) as to why the RA Defense Ministry industry was handed over to Russia under the "Property for Debt" agreement, why the RA-Iran gas pipeline, the railway, the power grids, the subsoil, everything that was called industry and production handed over to Russia: energy security, economic security, political security: sovereignty?
- Why was Vazgen Sargsyan, from June to October, and Aram Sargsyan, from November to May, able to restart Kanaz, Nairit, Agarak, the Charentsavan copper smelter and dozens of other enterprises in Yerevan and the regions, which were then closed one by one by Robert Kocharyan? Why did the most combat-ready army in the area not develop under Vazgen Sargsyan but rather grow into a dacha construction brigade and a headquarters for corruption? Russia was supposedly ensuring the security of the RA because Robert Kocharyan was selling the state in exchange for false security, false peace, and his brilliant power. In exchange for his homeland, when it was the subject of negotiations? Makes the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, the Nagorno-Karabakh that was an independent state. When he withdrew NKR from the talks, he made the right to self-determination a territorial issue. The only goal of the negotiations was not to resolve the problem but to maintain the status quo as a pretext for Russia's demand in the region.
- Kocharyan assured yesterday that US Deputy Secretary of State Strobe Talbott did not make any proposal on October 27, 1999, essentially denying the declassified documents of the US State Department. However, Vartan Oskanian writes about Talbott's proposal in his memoirs. How can we understand the contradictory statements of these three people?
-Both Robert Kocharyan and Vardan Oskanyan have been denying for decades that there was a Meghri option. They always say what they consider convenient at that moment and in that place to justify themselves, to accuse, and sometimes to accuse while justifying themselves. Searching for truth in their books and words is an absurd occupation: they have lied, are lying, and will lie because they have no other option. Because they have or are trying to get an order and stay in politics. And although they declare themselves pragmatic, they still dream that the "chemistry" will work and the tsar will return power to them. But that will happen when Armenia becomes a federal subject of the Russian Federation - a dream that will remain until the end of the century. The political time of Robert Kocharyan and his political wandering group is up; no matter how much their metastases spread, they will not reach the heart of Armenia because they have always been newcomers and transients, and the heart of Armenia is held by Yerablur and all those who know by heart to think:
