"I don't know a state that would tolerate the destruction of its territories for one year." Artyom Chernamoryan

Radar Armenia's interlocutor is Artyom Chernamoryan, editor-in-chief of Israel Armenians newspaper and president of the Petah Tikva "Nairi" union.

- The Israeli army has started the ground invasion of Lebanon. Why did this invasion begin, and what was the reason?

- The Israeli army started the attack because there was no alternative. For almost one year, from October 8 until today, "Hezbollah" was shelling the entire northern Israeli territories with 100-200 rockets per day. In other words, without firing toward Lebanon, when the Gaza terrorists infiltrated Israel on October 7, it was followed by Hezbollah's joining the war on October 8, and they started shelling the entire northern territories with rockets. I don't know a state that would tolerate the destruction and burning of its territories for a year so as not to take retaliatory actions.

- What goal does Israel pursue with this action?

- After October 8, around 75 thousand people were evacuated from the north. People have not lived in their houses for one year. Some people are accommodated in hotels at the state's expense; the situation is challenging. Because of this, Israel had to launch a counterattack. The attack with pagers, the murders of the leaders of "Hezbollah," was replaced by the ground operation. The main goal is to create a buffer zone in the south of Lebanon so that Hezbollah fighters do not bombard the northern regions of Israel. Eventually, people return to their destroyed and destroyed homes.

- In your opinion, is it necessary for Israel to involve Iran directly in the war? What will it do to Israel? Having not resolved the issue of Palestine, has Israel opened a second front?

- In my opinion, from the beginning, Israel had also set a goal to solve the problem of striking Iran's nuclear facilities, and for this, so to speak, it was constantly "buzzing." Israel was able to kill Ismail Haniyeh, the head of "Hamas," at the end of August. And all these actions were directed against Iran. After these political murders, Iran did nothing to save its face, and after the assassination of the leaders of "Hezbollah," it did nothing. Pezeshkian announced in the US that he wanted to get closer to the West and Europe and even criticized Russia. In other words, it adopted a pro-Western position to exclude the destruction of its nuclear facilities by Israel and the USA. I do not think Iran will get involved in the war this time. This is not in his favor because during the Iraq war, the USA brought three large aircraft carriers, and now six aircraft carriers are in the Middle East. And this is a significant number, twice as much as during the Iraq war. I should also mention that hundreds of planes and tens of thousands of marines and special American units are involved. I think that Iran will not follow the path of war.
