India ranked third in the world in terms of energy consumption. This was announced by the country's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, speaking at the opening of the energy week in Goa.
"Experts from all over the world believe that India will soon become the third-largest economy in the world. The energy sector plays an important role in this Indian growth story. India has already become the third largest energy consumer in the world; India is the third largest oil consumer in the world," said the head of the government.
