New Year in Georgia: Akhali Tseli
In Georgia, the New Year is a major family holiday marked by a rich table, special rituals, and joy. The magical Chichilaki tree, the visit of the first guest with good wishes, and the “Bedoba” (day of fate) on January 2, which determines the whole year, are essential. The table is filled with delicious dishes, including popular Georgian dishes such as satsivi, khachapuri, and roasted pork, as well as wines.
