The photo of the gorilla "High Five" has won the main prize at the 2022 Nikon Comedy Wildlife Awards, CNN reports.
The author of the photo, British photographer Mark Matt-Kohn, spoke about the picture: "A young male gorilla wanted to show off his acrobatic talent. I am glad that I was able to reflect his playful spirit in this image," he emphasized.
The organizers reported that this year was a record-breaking one, with more than 10,000 works from 109 countries submitted to the competition. The photo contest includes seven categories, from reptiles to insects and fish, as well as a special section for young photographers.
In addition, there is a "People's Choice" award, for which online voting is already open and will continue until March 1.
