The Microsoft Excel World Championship has ended in Las Vegas, where the strongest competed for the main prize.
The final round brought together 24 participants to complete a complex task inspired by origami. Players had to answer 130 questions across seven levels of difficulty. The winner was to be the first to complete all the tasks correctly.
Every five minutes, one participant was eliminated from the race until the final six. After an hour of hard work, Irishman Diarmuid Early scored 1,250 points, surpassing three-time world champion Andrew Ngai by more than 300 points. For the victory, the Irishman received a symbolic championship belt and a cash prize of $5,000.
