An incident has been reported in Richmond, South Island, New Zealand: a baby seal “entered” Sprig + Fern The Meadows beer bar. The animal apparently got lost and was also well under the country’s legal drinking age.
The animal tried to avoid people, went into the toilet, and then hid under the dishwasher. The device was turned off, and employees wanted to get it out using salmon as bait.
The animal was moved and released to nearby Rabbit Island, where it is safe.
According to experts, young seals often get lost and end up in human habitation at this time of year.
The employees of the bar have named him “Fern”, noting that this was their most unusual “customer”.
