The 2026 Winter Olympic flame was lit in Ancient Olympia. The Games will be held in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.
The flame was ceremonially passed to the first torchbearer, 2024 Olympic sailing bronze medalist Petros Gaitadzis. He opened the nine-day relay, which will be carried by around 450 participants, and will connect with dozens of cities and historic sites across Greece, including Pyrgos, Patras, Thessaloniki and Athens.
