Scientists "heard" the screams of newborn black holes

Scientists have detected, for the first time, the sound waves from two newborn black holes, born in massive collisions. The LIGO, Virgo, and KAGRA observatories recorded these gravitational waves. The first event, GW241011, occurred about 700 million light-years away, when a black hole 17 times more massive collided with one seven times smaller.
