A hoard of 43 medieval silver coins discovered in Shropshire, England, has been officially recognized as a historic treasure. The coins date back to the 12th and 13th centuries, during the reigns of Richard the Lionheart, King John, and Henry III. They are known as the Short Cross Pennies and have been dubbed the Hinford Hoard, after the county in which they were found.
