Stephen King's books are the most banned in US schools

American writer Stephen King topped the list of authors whose works are most often banned in US schools.

According to the study, King's books have been censored 206 times. The novels "Carrie" and "Resistance" were banned. The most common reasons for removal are scenes of violence, explicit sexual content, as well as gender and racial themes.

The most banned work is the novel "A Clockwork Orange" by Anthony Burgess, which has been banned 23 times. The list also includes books by Patricia McCormick, Judy Bloom, Jennifer Niven, Sarah J. Maas and Jodi Picoult.

Interestingly, 80% of the bans are concentrated in three states: Florida, Texas and Tennessee.
