China's Tianwen-2 spacecraft has been sent to collect samples from a mysterious asteroid. Along the way, it took photos of itself and the Earth from a distance of about 43 million kilometers. The Chinese flag is also clearly visible in the image.
According to official information, the spacecraft is operating normally. Sampling devices have already been installed, and electronic systems have been checked.
Tianwen-2's target is a small asteroid called Kamo'o'aleva, which is one of the seven "quasi-lunars" of the Earth. According to scientists, it may be a piece of the Moon that was thrown into space after a powerful collision.
