Scientists believe that asteroids that move in a hidden way along the orbit of Venus could pose a threat to Earth in the future. The thing is that these bodies orbit the Sun at the same speed as Venus, and for us, they are mainly in the “blind” zone of observation.
So far, about 20 such asteroids are known, but simulations show that there may be hundreds more that are so closely associated with the Sun that it is almost impossible to detect them. Some of them, according to calculations, can reach a diameter of up to 300 meters, and if they ever move close to Earth’s orbit, the consequences could be catastrophic.
