NASA introduces 10 new astronauts for new missions

NASA has officially announced its new group of astronauts, some of whom could be the first humans to set foot on the Martian surface.

This is the 24th group in NASA’s history and the first since 2021. The list of candidates was announced on September 22 at a ceremony at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston.

The newly announced group of astronauts consists of five men and five women. They were selected from more than 8,000 applicants. According to Norm Knight, NASA’s administrator of flight operations, “the selection process was complicated and competitive, but these individuals are not only exceptional, but they will also be an inspiration to the United States and the world.”
