Treasure found

A rare treasure has been discovered in Poland.

Grzegorz Panek's device recorded a strong signal, after which he found several copper coins just below the surface of the ground. But it turned out that this was only the beginning: in just a few hours, a massive hoard of more than 5,000 coins was discovered.

Initial analysis revealed that most of the coins date back to 1650-57, during the reign of King John II Casimir. They are mainly copper coins known as "boratinki", which got their name from Tito Livio Burattini, who headed the production.

Although they do not have significant market value, such a quantity provides essential information about the monetary circulation of the 17th and 18th centuries.

The discovered treasure has been transferred to the Hrubeszów Museum, where, after careful study and restoration, it will be ready for public display.
