A bold new theory of the origin of the universe has been proposed: according to scientists, gravitational waves, tiny radial fluctuations in space-time, predicted by Albert Einstein back in 1915, could be the force that gave birth to matter, and later galaxies, stars, and planets.
This approach is a stark contrast to the standard “Big Bang” theory, which is built on numerous assumptions and changing parameters. The great advantage of the above theory is that it does not require the introduction of hypothetical particles or fields, such as the “inflaton” field, which was proposed in previous models. Instead, gravitational waves themselves become the foundation on which the universe is formed.
