Actor from "The Sopranos" dies

American actor Jerry Adler, best known for his role as Herman "Hash" Rabkin in the crime series "The Sopranos," has died at the age of 96, his friend Frank J. Rowling said.

The actor's family said he died on August 23. Jerry Adler was born on February 4, 1929, and lived his entire life in New York City.

He began his acting career at the age of 65, playing Howard Lyman in the film "The Good Wife" and Fire Chief Sidney Feinberg in the drama "Save Me."
