Two new studies show that the success of the search for aliens depends on the right place and time. A Penn State and NASA JPL study found that Earth’s strongest radio signals are most easily detected when the planets are in a straight line, and aliens can see them with up to a 77% chance.
Another team, at Stockholm University, has used the Earth’s shadow to remove reflections from satellites and detect unknown objects in our solar system, including some fast-moving and elusive objects.
