Palestinian model Nadine Ayoub will represent Palestine for the first time in history in the international beauty contest “Miss Universe”. She announced this on Instagram, emphasizing the symbolic and national significance of her participation.
Ayoub also touched on the ongoing pain and war situation in Palestine, in particular in the Gaza Strip.
“As long as Palestine suffers, especially in Gaza, I carry the voice of a people that refuses to be silent. I represent every Palestinian woman and child whose strength the world needs to see. We are not just our suffering. We are endurance, hope and the heartbeat of the homeland, which continues to live through us,” she said.
The 74th “Miss Universe” competition will be held on November 21 in Thailand.
