A thousand-year-old sword was found in the river

Construction workers in the Netherlands accidentally found a medieval sword that is more than 1,000 years old in the Korte Linschoten River. It has been named the "Linschoten Sword" and is now on display at the National Museum of Antiquities in Leiden.

The sword is three feet long, double-edged, and decorated with gold-colored copper with crosses on it. Scientists believe that it was deliberately thrown into the river, perhaps as a ritual or as an item buried with its owner, as there is no lid next to it.
